What the Src and Status Badges Mean

Each result in the database carries small coloured badges. Here is what they stand for and what information each one gives you. There are two kinds: Src (where the record came from) and Status (your relationship with the contact).

Status badges

Small coloured labels shown in the Status column, set by right-clicking a contact or from the detail panel. A contact can carry more than one at a time — see the examples below.

SAFE

Safe contact
Verified and safe to call. Once set, the number is never struck through — even if it is on the DNC list.
Why can a DNC contact be “safe”? Canada’s National DNC List has exceptions. You may call a listed number with (1) express consent — the person agreed to be contacted (e.g. they asked for a follow-up or submitted a form), or (2) an existing business relationship — they bought or contracted from you in the last 18 months, or made an inquiry in the last 6 months. Use SAFE only when this genuinely applies and you can prove it. It never overrides a request to stop calling, and calling hours still apply (weekdays 9:00 a.m.–9:30 p.m., weekends 10:00 a.m.–6:00 p.m., the contact’s time zone). General guidance, not legal advice — verify against current CRTC rules.
HOT

Hot prospect
A priority contact showing strong interest. Can also be used as a search source.
PROSP

Prospect
A potential client worth following up. Less urgent than Hot, but still a good contact to pursue.
NO

No potential
Reviewed and not a viable prospect. Handy for marking contacts you do not want to call again.
DNC

Do not call
On the National Do Not Call List. The number appears struck through in red — do not call it.
CAT

Categorized
Assigned to one or more of your custom prospect categories. Contacts from a tagged import are categorized automatically.
TASK

Upcoming task
A follow-up task is scheduled for this contact.
DUE

Overdue task
A follow-up task for this contact has passed its due date and needs your attention.

Reading the badges together

Badges combine. Here is how to read a few contacts at a glance.

HOTSAFECATDUE
A hot lead that is safe to call — they are on the DNC list but gave you permission — that you have categorized, and who now has a follow-up task that is overdue.
PROSPTASK
A prospect worth pursuing, with a follow-up already scheduled.
DNC
On the National Do Not Call List with no exemption — the number shows struck through in red, so do not call it.
